Ruma National Park: Homa Bay Town, Homa Bay County
Ruma National Park, located 425 km west of Nairobi in Kenya’s Nyanza Province, is one of the top game parks in Kenya. This 120-square-kilometer park is the last refuge of the rare roan antelope, whose population is now dangerously low. Named by the local community, Ruma offers a unique safari experience with diverse wildlife, including leopards, giraffes, and buffalo. Bird lovers can enjoy spotting over 400 bird species, making it a key birding destination. Activities include game drives, nature walks, bird-watching, and even picnicking in scenic sites within the park.
